Headshots are about you telling the world who you are and what you have to offer. If there is a company policy regarding dress, follow it and let me know. How formal do you want your headshot to be. Sometimes a casual look says a lot more about the subject.

The main rule for a headshot is that it be strong and clear, so wear cloths that make your face stand out from its surroundings. Plain, solid colours work best. Strong patterns and shiny ties take away from the face.  For men I would suggest that you bring an extra jacket or sport coat and have a clean, ironed white and or blue shirt. Please bring them on a hanger. Don’t wear them while driving here. I suggest that the jackets be navy blue or charcoal grey. We will have a lint roller here in case you have pets at home. Fit is a key consideration when picking your headshot wardrobe. Too tight or loose  does not work as well.  Women can also wear solid colour business jackets or blazers. Colours can run the gamut. Some time a plain colour blouse will be the right look for that woman.  Is there a piece of clothing in your wardrobe that have gotten you compliments? Wear it. (both men and women) Simple designed necklaces can add to your look adding a bit of colour. Short classic necklaces work best. Ear rings should not be overpowering the shape of your face and take away from your eyes. Short sleeves and sleeveless garments do not work well.
